16 people including school students died in floods in Oman

At least 16 people have died in floods in the Middle Eastern country of Oman. Authorities said many of the dead were school-going children. Five more people are missing in this incident. Al Arabiya reported this information on Tuesday.
It was initially reported on Sunday that nine school-going children and three adults died after their cars were swept away by floodwaters.
On Monday, the country’s education ministry suspended most school activities as a precautionary measure due to the floods. Several roads are also blocked due to flooding.
Oman Air Force helicopters are being used to rescue people stuck on roads and other places.
Oman News Agency reported on Monday that the bodies of a child and three people were recovered.
Since Sunday, the life of Omanis has been disrupted by strong winds and thunder. Flash floods have occurred in several parts of the northern and eastern parts of the country.
A statement issued by the Sultan of Oman’s cabinet expressed condolences.
The statement said, “The Cabinet expresses its deepest condolences and condolences to the families and relatives of the school-going children who lost their lives recently in Asharqiyah province.”
