19 people died in a landslide in Indonesia

At least 19 people have died in a landslide on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. Two more people are missing in this incident.
Aljazeera reported that the collapse occurred in Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi province on Saturday (April 13) evening local time.
It is known that the rescue work cannot be carried out properly due to the bad weather and extensive damage to the roads. However, in the meantime, the rescue workers are continuing to search for life in the collapsed area with a special method.
Sulaiman Malia, head of the local disaster agency, said the landslide occurred due to heavy rains in Tana Toraja and its surrounding areas over the past week.
Regarding the incident, local police chief Gunardi Mundu said that a family event was going on in a house in the village sometime before midnight on Saturday. Meanwhile, some parts of the village were completely buried in the mud that fell from the mountain.
Indonesian Disaster Mitigation Agency spokesman Abdul Muhari said in a statement that the landslide occurred due to heavy rains.
It is reported that two villages in Tana Toraja area were damaged and four houses were destroyed in the landslide. Due to the hilly nature of the disaster affected area, it is becoming difficult for the rescuers to reach there. In the meantime, rescuers are continuing to search for life in the rubble with special methods.
