The Israeli military has confirmed the death of four more people held captive by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. All the four killed were captured by Hamas from Israel during the October 7 attack.

The Israeli military said the four died together during an Israeli operation in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza. However, their bodies are still in the hands of Hamas.

The four dead are British-Israeli Nadav Popplewell (51), Chaim Perry (79), Yoram Metzger (80) and Amiram Cooper (85). They are all men.

Daniel Hagari, spokesman for the Israeli Defense Forces IDF, said that they confirmed this based on intelligence gathered in recent weeks.

He said, four of them were killed together during our operation against Hamas in Khan Younis area. However, he did not give any further details on this matter.

Earlier last month, Hamas announced that Nadav Popplewell had died in an Israeli attack in April. Then the UK Foreign Office said to investigate the matter. However, the United Kingdom has not yet confirmed the death of Nadav.

On October 7, Hamas entered southern Israel and carried out an unprecedented attack, killing 1,200 Israelis and arresting about 250 Israelis and foreign citizens and bringing them to Gaza. Israel has been indiscriminately bombing Gaza on the same day it declared war on Hamas. Already, more than 36,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks in this small valley.

Last November, a seven-day ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel was brokered by Qatar and Egypt. Under the agreement, Hamas also released hundreds of Israeli prisoners. However, they still have hundreds of Israeli prisoners. But many of them are believed to have died.
