7 Pakistani security officers were killed in the bomb attack

At least seven security personnel, including an army captain, were killed in a bomb attack in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
An IED blast targeted a vehicle carrying security personnel in Lakki Marwat district of the province on Sunday.
The vehicle was on its way to Kaichi Kamar area when it came under attack near Sultankhel village, Reuters reported, citing local officials. The area borders Minawali district of Punjab province.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of Pakistan’s military said, “A homemade bomb was detonated in a vehicle of security forces in Lakki Marwat district.”
The media wing of the Pakistan military said that the name of the deceased captain was Muhammad Faraz Ilyas (26). Among the others killed were a Subedar Major, two Lance Naiks and three sepoys.
After this attack, the security forces are conducting an operation in the area, they said.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan strongly condemned the attack on security forces in Sahab Khel area of Lakki Marwa.
Another attack took place in the early hours of Sunday in Bajaur district of the same province. Insurgents ambushed a police check post. But the attack was repelled, Pakistani media Dawn reported.
Militants used various weapons including rocket launchers in the attack on the police check post.
