At least eight people, including two children, have been killed in a bomb blast at a market in Syria. More than 20 people were injured. The explosion happened on Sunday morning.
The country’s human rights organization, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said the explosion occurred in a popular market in Azaz, Syria’s Aleppo province, bordering Turkey. At that time, the buyers were shopping with children in the market on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
The organization also said that the bomb was thrown at the crowd of people in the market. It is not yet clear who carried out the attack. The city of Azaz is largely under the control of pro-Turkish Kurdish militias. The group is fighting against Syrian President Assad.
