Bangladesh’s GDP growth drops to 3.91 percent

Gross domestic product (GDP) growth slowed in the fourth quarter of the 2023-24 fiscal year. On a point-to-point basis at constant prices, the growth in this quarter fell by almost half to 3.91 percent.
The Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) released this information on the quarterly GDP growth on Monday. This information was revealed from their published report.
According to BBS data, in the fourth quarter of the 2023-24 fiscal year, the agricultural sector grew by 5.27 percent, the industrial sector grew by 3.98 percent, and the service sector grew by 3.67 percent.
Earlier, in the same period of the 2022-23 fiscal year, the agricultural sector grew by 6.55 percent and the industrial sector grew by 10.16 percent.
In addition, the service sector grew by 3.67 percent in the last quarter of the last fiscal year, which was 4.82 percent in the fourth quarter of the 2022-23 fiscal year.
