Bomb attack on convoy of foreign diplomats in Pakistan, 1 killed

There has been a bomb attack on the convoy of foreign diplomats in Pakistan. One police officer was killed and 3 others were injured. However, there are diplomats from 12 countries in the convoy, but all of them are safe.
In a report, Dawn News reported that the diplomats were traveling to a tourist area in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on the border of Afghanistan on Sunday (September 22). The convoy came under attack while passing through tourist spots and mountain roads in Malam Jabba, Swat district.
Swat District Police Officer (DPO) Zahidullah Khan said that a police squad car in front of the convoy was attacked with an improvised explosive device. One policeman was killed instantly and three others were injured. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
The fleet included diplomats from Indonesia, Ethiopia, Portugal, Kazakhstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Turkmenistan, Vietnam, Iran, Russia and Tajikistan. They all returned safely to Islamabad. The diplomats were on their way there to attend a summit organized by the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promote tourism, handicrafts and jewellery.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari condemned the attack and offered condolences to the family of the slain police officer.
So far no group has claimed responsibility for the incident. In Pakistan, 930 police officers died in terrorist attacks in 2023. Two thousand people were injured. Militants attacked for two days last August. It killed 84 civilians.
