Beijing, March 13, 2024 – China proudly announced a substantial achievement in its ongoing commitment to environmental conservation, revealing that it planted nearly 4 million hectares of forest in 2023. This announcement coincides with the nation’s 46th National Tree Planting Day, commemorated on Tuesday.

Official data released by the National Greening Commission showcased a notable increase from the previous year, with 3.998 million hectares of forest planted in 2023, surpassing the 2022 afforestation record of 3.83 million hectares.
