Israel has been invading Palestine for a long time. Regarding the ongoing war, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that the war cannot continue indefinitely. Justice cannot remain absent forever. That the promise of a two-state solution will waver at will is not right. We must move forward strongly.
He said these things while addressing the opening ceremony of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) in Beijing, the capital of China. The heads of state of Bahrain, Egypt, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Tunisia and foreign ministers of other Arab League countries participated in it.
Xi said that the Middle East is a land with wide potential for development. However, due to the ongoing war, the development of the region is not visible. The Israeli-Palestinian war has escalated since October last year. The people of this region are suffering endless hardships due to the war.
He said China supports the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. We support Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations and their inclusion in more comprehensive and effective international peace conferences.
He said that China will continue its cooperation to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and help in post-conflict reconstruction. The Chinese president also assured to cooperate with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency to provide emergency humanitarian aid to Gaza.
