Cyclone Asana is also moving away from the coast of Pakistan. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said the storm had moved 200 km southwest of Karachi on Saturday. However, at least 26 people have died in the coastal areas due to heavy rainfall due to the impact of the cyclone.
According to Dawn, Cyclone Asana did not pose any direct threat to coastal areas. However, due to its impact, several cities of Sindh and Balochistan are witnessing stormy winds and moderate to heavy rains on Friday and Saturday.
Thirteen members of the same family were killed when the roof of their house collapsed in northern Upper Dir in a landslide caused by incessant rains. Another 13 people were swept away by flash floods in several areas of Balochistan.
