Iran planned to assassinate Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Galant and the head of the country’s Shin Bet intelligence agency, Ronen Bar. This intelligence agency claimed that the plan has been prevented.

This information was reported from the Israeli media Jerusalem Post.

According to the report, it was originally planned as a revenge for the assassination of the then head of Hamas, Ismail Haniya, in Tehran, the capital of Iran. However, Israel has never acknowledged its involvement in Haniya’s murder. It has also been claimed that Iran has also planned to assassinate former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and other top defense officials.

The intelligence agency claimed that the murder was planned using an Israeli businessman who had been living in Turkey for a long time. The businessman has acquaintances with Iranian and Turkish people. To implement the plan, Turkish citizens Andrei Faruk Aslan and Guneid Aslan contacted the Israeli businessman for financial transactions last April. Later, through their mediation, the businessman met two representatives of an Iranian tycoon named Eddy in Samandag, Turkey, in May.

After learning that AD cannot go to Turkey from Iran, the Israeli businessman went to Iran himself. There he met Iranian security forces officers ‘Hajj’ and AD. There, he was asked to pay 1 million dollars for conducting this operation.

Later in August, the businessman went to Iran a second time and was paid $5,000 to carry out the plan. This money is given to him especially for working with weapons and other necessary materials. At the same time, he was advised to turn an agent of Mossad, another intelligence agency of Israel, into a double agent.

In August, the Israeli businessman entered Iran in a truck. This time he met with several officials of Iran’s security forces in addition to AD. In this meeting he was told to plan to kill the said leaders.

Besides, the businessman is also asked to take video of several places, from where surveillance can be done. Apart from this, the businessman is also said to have threatened several Israelis. These Israelis were contacted by Iran to work for them, but they later reneged.

However, despite all this, the Shin Bet intelligence agency did not say anything more about it. Especially if the businessman was able to make any significant progress in his plans. However, the organization claimed, Iran may continue to make strenuous efforts to implement such activities. This means that the threat is over after the plan is leaked, which is not the case.
