Reiterating Turkey’s support for Kiev, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called for the return of the Crimean Peninsula to Ukraine.

In a recent statement, Erdogan expressed Turkey’s unwavering support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. At that time, he mentioned that “Crimea should be seen as a part of Ukraine”.

“Crimea is historically part of Ukraine and its recovery is essential for the stability and security of the region,” Erdogan said.

The Turkish president said, Türkiye has always been and will be in favor of protecting the sovereignty of Ukraine. He also expressed concern about the rights and freedom of the Tatar people in Crimea, with whom Turkey has historical and cultural ties.

Turkey’s message of support for Ukraine comes at a time when Russia faces pressure from the international community over its annexation of Crimea. International tensions are rising over Russia’s ongoing war with Ukraine and the future of Crimea.
