France to give nuclear submarines, underwater drones to India

India is emphasizing on defense sector to strengthen itself. For that purpose, the country’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval will visit France this month. During the trip, Doval is also scheduled to meet with the French defense alliance and the country’s President Emmanuel Macron.

The top-level talks between India and France will be held from September 30 to October 1. This is according to the report of the Indian media Hindustan Times. This is the first strategic bilateral meeting between the two countries since Macron’s visit to India last January.

Whereas France is expected to provide India with nuclear submarines, powerful fighter jet engines and underwater drones. It is known that the Macron government is ready to provide 100% technical support to India for the production of nuclear submarines and the production of 110 kilo-newton aircraft engines. Also, France wants to help in the development of such drones, which are capable of working under water.

The report also said that the Indian Navy has sent a message to the top echelons of the government to build two nuclear submarines for future consideration. It was in this context that the proposal for submarines came from France. Along with that, France has also offered to provide special systems to increase intelligence gathering and surveillance capabilities. Which will help in protecting Indian Navy assets like submarines.

The report also said that the French proposal to manufacture fighter aircraft engines would be the property of India. India can even sell to a third country. It also proposes to train Indians in modern metallurgy and further improve India’s fighter jet engines.
