An Israeli delegation arrived in Qatar’s capital Doha on Wednesday for high-level talks on the Gaza ceasefire. But they left Doha without any agreement or progress.

Anadolu Agency gave this information with reference to Israeli media on Friday.

The Hebrew-language Israeli daily Haaretz reported that an Israeli negotiating team made up of representatives from the intelligence agency Mossad, the security agency Sinbet and the military returned to Israel from Qatar on Friday.

The daily also said there has been no progress so far in talks on the red lines set by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, including the presence of the Israeli army on the Philadelphia route, the opening of the Rafah crossing and an inspection of the discussed Netzerim route.

For the past several months, the United States, Qatar and Egypt have been trying to reach an agreement between Israel and Hamas to secure a hostage exchange and cease-fire and allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.

However, due to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s refusal to meet the demands of Hamas to stop the war, the mediation efforts have repeatedly stalled.

Israel has continued its brutal invasion of the Gaza Strip since October 7 last year despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in the besieged Gaza.

Even in a landmark opinion on July 19, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s decades-long occupation of Palestinian land illegal and demanded the removal of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Despite this, Israeli forces continue to attack one after another. According to local health authorities, 40,602 Palestinians have been killed so far in Israeli attacks. Most of them are women and children.

Besides, more than 93 thousand 800 people were injured. More than two million Palestinians have been displaced.

Israel’s ongoing invasion and blockade of Gaza has resulted in acute shortages of food, clean water and medicine. As a result, most parts of the region have now turned into ruins and death pits.
