Palestinian independence organization Hamas has proposed a cease-fire for the fourth time to resolve the conflict between Israel and Hamas. The resolution details the release of Palestinian prisoners and Israeli hostages and a ceasefire. However, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has already called the demands of this proposal unrealistic. Al-Jazeera news
Hamas said in their proposal, initially, in exchange for the release of Israeli women, children, elderly and sick hostages, 700 to 1,000 Palestinian prisoners detained in various Israeli prisons should be released.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said on Thursday that the new ceasefire proposal presented by Hamas is based on unrealistic demands.
Hamas says talks have stalled over the past few weeks as Netanyahu has rejected Hamas demands.
Hamas’s demands also include a permanent cease-fire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, the return of Palestinians displaced from southern Gaza to northern Gaza and the center of Gaza, and an unimpeded flow of aid.
