Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Hezbollah will pay a heavy price for the assassination attempt on him and his wife.
A drone belonging to the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah hit Netanyahu’s residence in the Caesarea area north of Tel Aviv on Saturday. However, Netanyahu and his wife were not there at the time.
Netanyahu said that the Iranian-backed groups that tried to kill me and my wife today made a big mistake.
This information was reported in a report by the AFP news agency. However, the report did not mention when and where he said the words.
Earlier, in a video message published on social media, Netanyahu said that Israel will continue the war against the Palestinian independence organization Hamas in Gaza until it wins. Nothing will stop it from fighting on the way to this victory.
Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was killed in an Israeli strike last Wednesday. Referring to that incident, Netanyahu said in a video message, “We have removed the murderer Yahya Sinwar (from the earth).
He also said, “I said, we are fighting for our own resurrection. We will continue this fight until the end.”
Meanwhile, after the attack on Netanyahu’s residence, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said that Iran’s true face has been revealed through the assassination attempt on Netanyahu.
Israel has been carrying out massive attacks on Lebanon since last September. In response, Hezbollah also frequently fires drones, missiles and rockets. In the meantime, Israel sees the attack on Netanyahu’s residence as a serious security failure. The country has also launched an investigation into how the drone managed to evade Israel’s powerful air defenses and security systems.
In addition to Netanyahu’s residence, Hezbollah fired a large number of rockets at Israel on Saturday. Sirens have been heard in various parts of the country since this morning. The Israeli military said that at least 118 rockets were fired by Hezbollah. Most of these rockets were fired at northern Israel.
