Former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh pointed to current Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that no Prime Minister in the past had uttered such hateful, unparliamentary and crude words to target a specific section of society or the opposition.
This information has been informed from the report of Indian media NDTV.
Manmohan Singh on Thursday (May 30) said in an open letter to the countrymen ahead of the last phase of voting on June 1.
I was watching this election campaign very well. Modi has been giving vile hate speech all the time. Which is very divisive politics. Modi is the first Prime Minister of the country to downgrade the post. He undermined the importance of the position of Prime Minister. No other Prime Minister of the country was so mean.
The former prime minister said, ‘The way he (Modi) spoke is unparliamentary and lowly. The initial language of his speech was aimed at a particular group or opposition. They also misrepresented me.
Manmohan said, I have never seen one community and others separate in my life. This is BJP’s prerogative and they are used to it.
Appealing to maintain peace and harmony, Manmohan Singh said, I am appealing to each of you with folded hands to give opportunities for love, peace, brotherhood and harmony. I appeal to every voter of Punjab to vote for development and integrated progress. Only Congress can ensure a growth-oriented progressive future, where democracy and the Constitution are protected.
