ICC warrant would be a scandal of historic proportions: Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has already warned against the possibility that the International Criminal Court (ICC) may issue an arrest warrant for war crimes in Gaza.

He said it is feared they will issue arrest warrants for war crimes against IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) commanders and state leaders. If these fears materialize, it will be a scandal of historic proportions.

Reuters reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that if the International Criminal Court issues arrest warrants against his country’s government officials accused of waging war against Hamas, it will be a historic scandal.

“I want to make one thing clear,” he said, “no decision taken at The Hague or anywhere else can detract from our determination to achieve all the war aims.” Our goal is the release of all Israeli hostages, total victory over Hamas, and ensuring that Gaza never again poses a threat to Israel.
