The country’s armed rebel group has claimed to occupy the regional military office in Myanmar this time. MNDAA attacked the office in Lashio town of Shan state in the northern part of the country overnight. After that, the armed group confirmed that they were able to take over the office. AFP.
According to the sources of the Junta forces, the international media said that the troops who had been fighting in this military office for several weeks, began to retreat from Saturday morning. The city of Lashio is an important route for trade between China and Myanmar.
Since the beginning of last month, MNDAA fighters have been fighting with the Myanmar military to take over the military office. With the MNDAA’s victory in Lashio, Myanmar’s armed forces lost a regional military office for the first time in more than three years. They have also lost control of large parts of Shan State to several rebel groups, including the MNDAS. The country has 14 regional offices of the military.
In 10 of these, the army is fighting with ethnic minority insurgents. The MNDAA’s victory in Lashio marks the first time Myanmar’s armed forces have lost a regional military office in more than three years. They have also lost control of large parts of Shan State to several rebel groups, including the MNDAS. Key among the rebels’ operations in Shan State was the capture of the town of Laukkai on the Chinese border. Around 2,000 soldiers of the junta forces surrendered at that time. It was the biggest defeat for Myanmar’s military in decades.
Myanmar’s junta has been shaken after the rebellion of armed groups. The strength of the military has been greatly weakened by losing one base after another. Also, young people are forced to join the army in the country of civil war. But that did not help. Rebel armed groups are outmaneuvering the military.
