Iran has attacked at least a dozen Israeli ships after Israel attacked Iranian oil tankers in international waters.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps or IRGC Commander-in-Chief Major General Hossein Salami said this information.
General Salami told him this when Iran’s President Massoud Pezeshkian visited IRGC’s Khatamul Ambia headquarters in Tehran on Saturday.
General Salami said, Israeli forces attacked 14 of our oil tankers to damage Iran’s oil exports. Initially, we did not understand who was carrying out the attack. Because, they were attacking with great secrecy. Eventually we realized that Israel was carrying out these attacks and then we hit 12 of their ships.
“When we hit their fifth ship, they stopped their attacks against us and decided to end the naval war,” said the IRGC commander-in-chief.
Referring to an earlier incident, General Salami said, “After the British government seized one of our oil tankers in the Straits of Gibraltar, we seized their Stena Impero ship.” As a result they were forced to surrender. Iran seized the British ship in the Strait of Hormuz in 2019.
In addition, General Salami said that after the United States seized two Iranian ships from Greece in 2022, Iran also seized two of their ships, which forced them to surrender.
This time, the Iranian army commander emphasized that if they show flexibility in front of the aggressive activities of the enemies, they will get it. But when countermeasures are taken, they are forced to fold their hands and flee. Source: IRNA
