Tensions between Iran and Israel are rising in the Middle East. Israel threatened to retaliate after Iran’s attack on Israeli territory on October 1. However, if Israel attacks Iran, Iranian Army Chief of Staff Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi has threatened that the Iranian army is ready to give a befitting reply.
Recently, the top officials of the country’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission met with the Iranian army chief to discuss the current security situation. In that meeting, the army chief reiterated the need to respond strongly to any Israeli aggression, said commission spokesman Ebrahim Rezaei.
Iran attacked Israel to avenge the assassination of former Hamas Politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh and former Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah. The official name of the attack is ‘Operation True Promise 2’. Pointing to the “success” of the attack, the Iranian army chief said they are ready to defend Iran’s sovereignty.
Despite threatening to retaliate after the Iranian attack, Israel has not yet taken any final steps on the issue. According to various international media sources, Israel is in talks with the United States about attacking Iran. Recently, some documents related to this have also been leaked.
