Iran has finalized a plan to retaliate against Israel in response to last week’s airstrikes. Now, discussions are underway on the time and date of the attack. The Tehran Times reported that Esmail Kowsari, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and currently a lawmaker, confirmed this information.
Esmail Kowsari, a lawmaker and member of the parliament’s Defense and National Security Committee, told Iranian media that the details of the retaliatory attack have been submitted to the military leaders. They will now determine the time and date of the attack.
Kowsari also said that almost all members of the country’s Supreme National Security Council agree that Iran should give a befitting response to the Zionist Israeli rulers. In his words, “It is our legal right to respond to Israel’s latest atrocities. We will definitely use this right.”
Iran and Israel have been engaged in a series of attacks since April amid the Gaza and Lebanon wars. In continuation of this, Iran launched a major missile attack on Israel on October 1. The attack was carried out using 181 ballistic missiles.
In response, the Israeli forces launched a surprise attack on Iran on October 26. The attack targeted military installations in the capital Tehran and several provinces of the country. The Israeli forces used more than a hundred warplanes in this attack.
After the attack, Israel warned Iran not to retaliate. Their allies the United States and the United Kingdom also urged Iran not to retaliate. However, a recent report by the American media outlet New York Times said that Iran’s supreme religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has ordered preparations to attack Israel.
The Times of Israel reported on Thursday that Iran will not attack before the November 5 US elections. However, citing some other media sources, Iran may attack Israel before the US elections.
Earlier, Iran’s supreme leader said in a statement, “Whether the enemy is the Zionist Israeli government or the United States, Iran, the Iranian people and other resistance groups will definitely receive a crushing response for what is being done to them.”
The 85-year-old leader also said that this is not just a matter of revenge, but a rational step. Which is related to religion, ethics, Sharia and international law. However, he did not specify in detail when, when, and to what extent this response will be given.
Meanwhile, the United States has warned Iran strongly against attacking Israel. Through intermediaries, the Joe Biden administration has told Tehran that if Iran retaliates, the United States will no longer be able to stop Israel. This was reported in a report by the American media Axios, citing Israeli and US officials.
According to the report, a US official said, “We have told the Iranians that we cannot handle Israel this time and we cannot be sure where and how the next attack will be carried out.
The report quoted the official as saying that the message was delivered directly to the Iranians. However, Israeli sources said that the message was sent to Tehran through Swiss intermediaries. However, the White House declined to comment on this.
Not only a warning, the United States has sent bombers to the Middle East amid fears of an Iranian attack on Israel. In the meantime, several B-52 bombers have arrived in the Middle East. The United States Central Command (Centcom) confirmed the matter in a message on Saturday (November 2) local time.
