Israel’s former war minister Avigdor Lieberman has admitted that Israel lost the war in the northern region to the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah.
In a post on the social media X page on Friday, he wrote, Hezbollah launched hundreds of rocket and drone attacks on settlers in northern Israel last week. The failure of Hezbollah to deal with this threat is proof of the incompetence of the ruling cabinet.
The former war minister said that the activities of the Israeli military, especially the air force, could not stop Hezbollah’s attacks. Residents of northern Israel are ordered to stay close to bomb shelters every day.
Lieberman said thousands of Israeli settlers displaced from northern Israel by the ongoing conflict do not know if schools will open this year. Besides, many factories and workshops have shifted from that region to other areas.
He said that the challenges of the northern region are difficult for the current Israeli administration. As a result they have no right to remain in power.
Meanwhile, a recent opinion poll conducted by Israel’s Channel-Twelve found that 75 percent of settlers believed that the Netanyahu government’s handling of the war in northern Israel was too weak. Source: IRNA
