Israeli army chief narrowly escapes assassination attempt in Gaza

Israeli army chief Hargi Halevi narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in an area north of the besieged Gaza Strip, the Israeli media outlet Haaretz reported on Thursday (October 31).

According to the Haaretz report, Hamas’s military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, attacked a house in northern Gaza on Tuesday where Halevi was known to be present.

Israeli media reported that the Israeli army chief narrowly escaped the attack by safely leaving the house.

An Israeli source said that Halevi was inspecting and checking the ongoing Israeli military operation in northern Gaza when an anti-tank missile was fired at a house.
