Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is waging war in Gaza and Lebanon for his own political and personal gain, retired IDF general Israel Ziv has accused.

Ziv made the remarks in an interview with Israeli broadcaster Channel 12 on Sunday.

He said that former Defense Minister Yoav Galant lost his ministry because Netanyahu objected to the issue.

Ziv said that the primary and main goal of the Israeli military operation in Gaza was to free the militants held by Hamas. But within a few days of the war, we realized that freeing the hostages was not the priority of this war.

He also said that Netanyahu was in charge of the overall management of the war from the beginning. It was mainly because of his instructions that the primary goal of freeing the hostages eventually became unimportant. Netanyahu gave priority to his own political and personal gain and gave instructions for the war. Yoav Gallant (former Israeli Defense Minister) had to lose his ministry because he raised objections to this.

Recently, security documents were stolen from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office. Among those initially convicted of this theft is one of Netanyahu’s aides.

In this regard, Israel Ziv told Channel 12, “Netanyahu himself is covered in lies. There is no room for truth in him. It is natural that his aides will be like him.”
