Japan was shaken by the earthquake

A magnitude 6.5 earthquake was felt in Japan’s Bonin Islands. The earthquake was felt on Saturday.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) has confirmed this information in a report by the news agency Reuters. However, no damage or casualties were reported.

According to the USGS, the epicenter of the earthquake was 503.2 km below the surface. The US National Tsunami Warning Center said there was no danger of a tsunami as a result of the earthquake.

A 40 cm (1.3 ft) tsunami hit Japan after a 7.6-magnitude earthquake hit Mindanao Island in the Philippines on December 3. The tsunami hit the island of Hachijojima, about 290 kilometers south of the country’s capital, Tokyo.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) said at the time that the magnitude of the earthquake was 7.6. On the other hand, the Philippine agency said, its intensity was 6.9.
