More than 400 Palestinians have been killed in 13 consecutive days of Israeli attacks on Al Shifa Hospital in the besieged Gaza Strip. Al Jazeera, citing Gaza’s media office, reported on Sunday that the dead included injured patients, Palestinians displaced by the war and health care workers.
Palestinian fighters attacked Israeli troops and armored vehicles with mortar and rocket fire during the siege of al-Shifa hospital. Earlier on March 18, Israel’s military announced that the al-Shifa building was being used by senior members of Hamas – based on intelligence that a specific attack was being carried out there.
At least 30,000 people have been trapped in al-Shifa hospital due to ongoing Israeli attacks, according to Al-Jazeera, citing Gaza’s health ministry. These people trapped in the hospital complex are displaced common people, hospital staff and injured patients.
Al-Shifa is the largest hospital in Gaza. Earlier, Israel raided the hospital in November last year. At that time, Israel faced widespread international criticism for the attack.
