North Korea launched a short-range missile attack on the United States. The attack was carried out from the country’s eastern waters. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is preparing to attend a democracy summit in rival South Korea. This angered North Korea. The missiles were launched from the capital Pyongyang on Monday. British news agency Reuters confirmed this news.
Two months later, the attack was carried out again in the waters of the Sea of Japan. South Korea’s military said several missiles were fired between 7:44 a.m. and 8:22 a.m. local time. They fell into the sea at a distance of about 300 km on the east coast. Japan’s defense ministry said three missiles were launched. They fall at a distance of about 350 km, with a maximum height of 50 km. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida condemned it as a clear provocation. South Korea and the US military concluded a major 10-day annual joint military exercise last Thursday.
Criticizing the exercise, Pyongyang says it is an exercise in aggression on its territory. A few days after the end of the joint exercise, North Korea showed its strength. Shortly after the missile launch, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and South Korean President Yun Suk-yeol appeared on the opening stage of the Democracy Summit. This conference has started from Monday today for the democratic backwardness of the world. This conference is organized by South Korea. Under the leadership of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Pyongyang frequently launches a variety of short- and long-range ballistic missiles.
