Oil and gas industry fair is going on in Malaysia, 70 countries have participated

A three-day oil and gas industry fair is underway in Malaysia with the participation of 70 countries. The 20th edition of ‘Oil & Gas Asia OGA-2024’, Southeast Asia’s premier industry event for oil, gas, energy and petrochemical sectors, has kicked off to drive dialogue and investment opportunities to build a greener future.
Malaysian Finance Minister YB Tuan Mohammad Rafizi Ramli inaugurated the fair on Wednesday.
Organized by Informa Markets, the fair titled ‘Power Progress Towards a Sustainable Energy Landscape’ started on September 25 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center and will continue until September 27 at 5 pm local time.
Abdul Rahman Mamat, chairman of Informa Markets Malaysia, said that sustainability is the biggest challenge of the time. Many countries and companies are still looking for the best option for their energy needs and security.
He added, OGA is delighted to host numerous markets with their latest solutions at the exhibition and to host a distinguished gathering platform for professionals, decision-makers and industry stakeholders from the public and private sectors to discuss the challenges of change and discuss the challenges and transitions.
Expected to attract more than 28,000 participants from nearly 70 countries to this year’s fair, OGA-2024 will offer a wide range of innovative technologies as well as unparalleled networking opportunities. The three-day event will feature a dynamic program of concurrent conference tracks and forums to initiate intense discussions on the path to decarbonisation.
Exhibiting companies will include AHF Energy, CR3, Emerson, Enviros, Esem, Goforth, Pantec Group, PTTEP, Scopetel, Velesto, Wica and more.
Multimedia University Computing and Informatics Department Lecturer, Md. Zubair Hasan Tarif said digital twin, analytics and robotic process automation (RPA) are currently hot topics in the oil and gas industry, using information technology to increase efficiency and operational performance. Especially technologies like Digital Twins, which act as a virtual model of factory equipment, facilitate timely monitoring and maintenance forecasts and optimize production workflows. Hasan Tarif also said that there is a great opportunity to modernize the current oil and gas industry of Bangladesh by using this technology.
Organized with the support of the Malaysian Petrochemicals Association (MPA), the event will promote growth and innovation across the energy value chain. Organizers expect more than 2,000 companies to exhibit at AGA 2024, as well as conferences and networking sessions that will create opportunities for partnerships and investments in the ASEAN region.
