Putin thanked the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia for the reason

The largest prisoner exchange between Russia and the US took place last month. Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his cooperation in the exchange of prisoners. Al Arabiya news.

Russia arrests US journalist Ivan Gershkovich on espionage charges. On August 1, American journalist and former US Marine Powell Whalen returned to Washington. They were originally released by Russia as part of a prisoner exchange between the two countries.

A prisoner exchange between Russia and the US had been in the works for a year. In the end, 16 prisoners from Russia returned to Western countries and 8 returned to Moscow from Western countries. And the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia played an important role in the exchange of these prisoners.

Joining the Eastern Economic Forum, Putin said, “I sincerely thank the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia for returning our citizens from Western countries.” He played an important role in this work.

Along with the Saudi crown prince, Putin thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Because he gave room for prisoner exchange. Some other Arab countries were involved in this work.
