Saudi Arabia issues new guidelines for Umrah pilgrims

Saudi Arabia has issued new guidelines for Umrah pilgrims considering health and environmental aspects. In this guideline, it is recommended to cut hair only at an authorized barber after completing the Umrah Tawaf and Sa’i at the Grand Mosque in Mecca.
The ministry said that this guideline was given considering health and environmental aspects.
According to the new guidelines, the primary emphasis has been placed on increasing health safety in barber shops. And strict sanitation measures have been made mandatory and the reuse of shaving razors has been banned.
The directive from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj said that the health and environment of Umrah pilgrims will be protected if their hair is cut at an authorized barber. These barbers use sterile equipment to ensure safe and hygienic services.
In addition, the directive has asked Umrah pilgrims to take care of their feet. It has been advised to wear comfortable shoes and not walk barefoot for long periods. It is advised to take breaks and rest if tired. It is advised to avoid heavy meals during the Umrah journey and drink enough water.
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj also said in the directive that the validity of Umrah visas has been extended from 30 days to 90 days. From now on, Umrah passengers can enter Saudi Arabia by land, air and sea ports and return to their home countries from any airport.
In addition, new arrangements have been introduced for the convenience of Umrah for women. They can perform Umrah without a male guardian.
A ministry spokesman said that these measures will help improve the quality of services and help increase investment in this sector and reflect our commitment.
