The occupying Israeli army (IDF) has demanded the recovery of the body of a hostage kidnapped by the Palestinian independence organization Hamas.

This information was given in a statement on Saturday (April 6).

The body of kidnapped Elad Katzir was recovered from Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip last night and returned to Israeli territory, the statement said.

At the time of the attack, 47-year-old Katzir was abducted from the Nir Oz kibbutz community along with his mother Hana.

Hanna was released on November 24 during a week-long lull in the Gaza war. In addition, Katzir’s father, Abraham, was killed during the attack on the kibbutz, the IDF said.

The IDF says it has recovered 12 bodies from Gaza so far, including Elad Katzir, during the war.

Hamas launched a cross-border attack on Israel on October 7 last year in protest of decades of torture, genocide, land occupation, etc.

According to Tel Aviv, about 1,200 people were killed in that attack. Since the attack, Israel has continued its brutal attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said that more than 33,000 people have been killed in the nearly six-month war. Most of them are women and children.
