The world is pushing to resume political dialogue with Israel to stop the conflict in Gaza. In the meantime, the Prime Minister of this territory occupied by Israel, Mohammad Mustafa, has announced the overall reform of Palestine’s administrative, economic, and government services.

In a speech addressed to the nation from his office in Ramallah, the administrative capital of the West Bank, Mohammad Mostafa said, preventing administrative corruption, reforming the judicial system, improving the security system and the skills of officials working in government administration, developing essential service sectors such as health and education, and banks and other The government under his leadership will soon take some new steps to strengthen financial institutions. News from Reuters.

Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem—The Palestinian Gaza Strip, which consists of three territories, is currently ruled by the armed political group Hamas, and the Palestinian Authority (Palestinian Authority-PA), led by the political party Fatah, in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The international community recognizes the PA as the legitimate ruler of Palestine.

President Mahmoud Abbas of the PA coalition government appointed Mohammad Mustafa as the Prime Minister on March 15. Before him, the Prime Minister of Palestine was Mohammad Shatayeh.

Shatayeh heads the delegation formed by the Palestinian government to start political dialogue with Israel and the international community after the start of the operation by the Islamic forces in Gaza. It is for this reason that he has been removed from the post of Prime Minister.

The reforms announced by Mohammad Mostafa on Tuesday were also announced by his predecessor Shatayeh.

Hamas came to power in Gaza after winning the 2007 elections. After taking power, the group ousted the PA coalition from the territory.

However, although Hamas is popular in Palestine, it has no acceptance at the international level. Most of the Western countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, have listed Hamas as a terrorist group.

Although the countries of the Middle East and Asia have not yet declared Hamas as a terrorist group, most of the countries always maintain a safe distance from this group’s association.
The attack of Hamas fighters on the territory of Israel on October 7 and the Israeli military operation in Gaza in response to that day has caused an important turning point in the regional and global politics regarding the Palestinian-Israeli issue.

The US and the Western world want Hamas out of Gaza and a PA government back in power.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, however, objected to this. In this context, he has said several times that the current PA alliance does not have the capacity to manage the administration of Gaza.

His words are not completely wrong. The West Bank PA alliance has been suffering from severe economic crisis for the past two years. The government is not even able to pay the normal salary to the government officials and employees there.

The crisis has intensified since the start of the conflict on October 7. Israel has imposed several financial restrictions on the PA coalition, accusing the Palestinian Authority of secretly supporting Hamas.
