China has been claiming Taiwan as part of its territory for a long time. Although Beijing does not directly attack Taiwan, it is always trying to put pressure on it in various ways.

Again, there is hostility between China and the United States for various reasons including this issue. And the benefit of this rivalry is going to Taiwan’s house. The US recently approved a huge aid package for Taiwan.

Washington is said to be one of Taipei’s allies. Beyond diplomatic relations, Taiwan’s most important supporter and arms supplier is the United States. The US has approved a huge foreign aid package for Taiwan, mainly to counter China. Under the package, Taipei is going to receive arms aid from the United States. China has expressed anger over the issue.

According to The Guardian report, US President Joe Biden signed the aid bill for the three countries after months of delay and debate.

It is believed that this action of the United States may have a major impact in the Asia-Pacific region.

The United States has allocated 8 billion dollars for the Indo-Pacific region.

Analysts say the region is largely funded as an effort to counter Communist China and ensure a strong deterrence in the region.

According to Connor Fiedler of the Foreign Policy Research Institute, about half of the money allocated to the Indo-Pacific will go directly to strengthening the submarine industry. This investment will raise the bar in the Indo-Pacific. However, its immediate impact will be positive on the US economy. According to Fiedler, the bulk of this money will be spent in the United States. About 16,000 submarine suppliers in 50 states of the country will benefit.

Two billion dollars in aid package funds are earmarked for foreign military financing programs for Taiwan and other partners in the Indo-Pacific.

The United States has said that these countries or regions are facing China’s aggression. According to U.S. officials, the U.S. allows allies to purchase U.S. defense sector registrations, services and training under the funding program.

About $1.9 billion has been allocated for defense spending by Taiwan and other regional partners. Of this, $540 million will be spent on strengthening US military capabilities in the region.

On the other hand, criticizing these US aid packages, China says that such funds are pushing Taiwan into a “dangerous situation”. Beijing’s Taiwan Affairs Office said the aid “seriously violates” US commitments to China and “sends the wrong signal to separatist forces about Taiwan’s independence.”
