US military video shows houses and mosques being set on fire in Gaza

A US-Israeli soldier deployed with a combat engineering unit of the occupying Israeli Armed Forces in Palestine’s war-torn Gaza Strip posted the video online. It showed images of flames spreading through a destroyed building, houses and an explosion in a mosque.

The video, posted by the man identified as Bram Settenbrino, shows several rounds being fired into the ruins of a building. Another video showed an armored vehicle being rammed into a mosque before destroying its fire-control system. Another video showed soldiers cheering as several houses were detonated.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Settenbrino have not disputed the authenticity of the videos.

Settenbrino wrote in a message to The Guardian that the videos were “taken out of context” but declined to elaborate.
