Bill passed to revoke citizenship of Turks who fought for Israel in Gaza war

The occupying Israeli military forces (IDF) are waging a genocidal war across the Palestinian Gaza Strip. The Turkish parliament decided on Wednesday to revoke the citizenship and confiscate the assets of Turkish citizens who participated in the war on behalf of Israel. A bill to this effect was passed soon after its presentation.

Middle East Monitor reported this information in a report on Thursday (July 11).

According to reports, the Huda Par (Free Cause) party led by Zekeria Yapcioglu proposed the bill.

Citing media reports, he said, the participation of about 4,000 Turkish-Israeli citizens in the war indicates that they took part in the Israeli occupation army’s genocidal actions targeting Palestinians.

He said the actual number of dual citizens serving in the Israeli occupation army is much higher.

“We cannot remain silent about those who take part in war crimes and return to live a normal life in Turkey, as if they have done nothing,” he said.

On the other hand, Free Cause Party member Serkan Ramanli said, “We believe that Turkish-Israeli dual citizens who join the Israeli army and commit crimes against humanity should be stripped of their citizenship and their assets should be confiscated.” Therefore we are presenting this bill.’

He also said, “According to international agreements, we must actively fight against genocide and crimes against humanity.” But the Ministry of Justice has not taken any action in this regard so far.

He asked the Parliament, ‘Why are we waiting for 9 months?’
