
New Lebanese president to visit Saudi Arabia on first state visit

Lebanon’s new President Joseph Aoun will pay his first state visit to Saudi Arabia. Aoun made the announcement in a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The report said that on Saturday (January 11), Lebanon’s new President Joseph Aoun told Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in a phone call that his first state visit would be to Saudi Arabia.
On Thursday (January 9), the country’s lawmakers elected 61-year-old army chief Joseph Aoun as president of Lebanon. Through this, the people of the country, which has been plagued by crisis, received a president after more than two years.
The Lebanese presidential office and the Saudi news agency SPA reported that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman called Aoun on Saturday to congratulate him and invited him to visit his country.
In response, Aoun said that Saudi Arabia would be his “first destination.”
