Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of Muslims, is being celebrated in different countries of the world. Celebrations are also held in the besieged Palestinian territory of Gaza. However, while Eid brings messages of happiness and joy to Muslims in other countries, the situation in this holy land is different. The territory has been reduced to rubble by Israel’s barbaric aggression that has lasted for more than six months.

There is the death of countless people including women and children every day, along with the pain of losing loved ones. Starvation and famine are not far away in acute humanitarian crisis. Eid has come to Palestine in this situation. And the Palestinians have passed away all the destruction, suffering and pain and welcomed Eid. Palestinians even took to the streets to celebrate the beginning of the holy Eid al-Fitr.

On the other hand, Palestinian independence armed organization Hamas has congratulated the Arab and Muslim countries on the occasion of Eid. Al Jazeera reported this information on Wednesday.

According to the media, Palestinians took to the streets of Gaza reciting takbeer and praising Allah Almighty to mark the end of Ramadan and welcome the holy Eid al-Fitr.

This year’s Eid in the Gaza Strip comes at a time when the Palestinian territory has been under a massive siege as well as more than six months of Israeli airstrikes, widespread destruction and food shortages. Meanwhile, Hamas has given a message to the Palestinians on the occasion of Eid. In a statement ahead of Eid al-Fitr, Hamas congratulated the Palestinians in Gaza for their strength and steadfastness.

Basically a few days ago the Palestinians in Gaza completed six months of the Israeli invasion and that aggression is still going on.

“We assure our people that people in the West Bank, in Jerusalem, in occupied (historical) Palestine as well as in displaced persons camps around the world stand in solidarity with us and our people in Gaza,” the ruling party in the Gaza Strip said in a statement on Telegram.

Hamas also said, “We congratulate the Arab and Islamic countries on the arrival of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.”

During this time, Hamas also expressed hope that everyone’s genuine support for the Palestinians and the end of the Israeli occupation will continue to grow.
