Colombian president calls Netanyahu a ‘genocide’

Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression in Gaza, the President of the Latin American country of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, and the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, have been making insulting statements about this war. In his final speech, Petro called Netanyahu a “genocide.”
“Netanyahu, you will go down in the pages of history as a mass murderer,” Colombian President Petro posted on social media X. You cannot be a hero by bombing thousands of innocent children, women and elderly people.
He compared Netanyahu to the radical nationalist Nazis responsible for the murder of millions of Jews in Europe. He said, those who are being killed, regardless of their religion, genocide is genocide.
Colombia’s popular president Petro previously called for the arrest of the Israeli prime minister for killing Palestinians in Gaza. In response, Netanyahu called Petro a ‘Hamas supporter and anti-Semitic’.
On October 7, Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israeli territory. One thousand 160 people were killed. 250 people were taken hostage by Hamas.
In response to this attack, Israel launched an unprecedented and indiscriminate airstrikes against Gaza on the same day. Later the ground forces also joined it. At least 34 thousand 971 Palestinians have been killed in this aggression in the last 7 months. Besides, another 78 thousand 641 people were injured. Most of the casualties were women and children.
