Israeli occupation forces have claimed that senior Hamas military commander Rafa Salama has been killed in an attack in the Gaza Strip. He is one of the planners of the Palestinian armed group’s retaliatory attack in southern Israel on October 7.

The Israeli air force “killed Rafa Salama, the commander of Hamas’s Khan Younis Brigade,” in a strike in al-Mawasi, south of the Gaza Strip, on Saturday, a military statement said. The Palestinian group’s military chief, Mohammad Deif, was also targeted, the army said earlier.

However, a Hamas official said on Sunday that Deif was still alive and overseeing the operation. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also admitted that he had “no confirmation” that Deif was killed.

Meanwhile, at least 90 people were killed in this terrible attack on the refugee camp of the displaced Palestinians. Gaza’s health ministry called it a “genocide”.

However, Hamas has not yet confirmed the death of Rafi Salama.

For the past 10 months, there has been a war between Hamas and the occupying Israel. So far, about 40,000 Palestinians have been killed in this war. International mediators are trying to broker a cease-fire agreement between Hamas and Israel to stop the destruction of Israelis.

Although Israel participated in the ceasefire negotiations, they did not stop the atrocities in Gaza.
