Israel has launched a new attack on Lebanon. The aim is to kill the main leader of the armed group Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrullah. It was feared that Nasrullah was injured or killed in this attack.

However, according to Reuters, the Hezbollah chief is alive and well. The news agency reported this information about people close to Nasrullah.

Meanwhile, another Hezbollah source told AFP that Nasrullah is fine.

Israeli forces attacked the headquarters of Hezbollah in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, on Friday. Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said the air force targeted Hezbollah’s main headquarters.

Hagari claimed that the headquarters was built under the civilian building in Dahiyet, Beirut.

Before the attack in Beirut, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at a session of the United Nations General Assembly.

At that time, he said, their campaign against Hezbollah will not stop before achieving the goal. Within an hour of his speech, a terrible explosion rocked the capital of Lebanon.

The Hezbollah chief survived, but many people are feared to have been injured and killed in Friday’s attack. Several tall buildings have completely collapsed where the airstrikes have taken place.

Aljazeera reported that at least two bodies were recovered from the rubble of the building. There are believed to be many more trapped. Source: The Guardian
