A total of 772 Israeli soldiers have been killed in Israel, the Gaza Strip and Lebanon in the past year. Many more have been injured.
An Israeli soldier was killed in clashes in northern Gaza on Tuesday (October 29), the Israeli military said.
The 25-year-old soldier was the commander of the 52nd Battalion. He was wounded in clashes in the northern Gaza Strip on October 19 and later died, the Israeli military said.
According to the Israeli military, at least 772 Israeli soldiers have been killed in clashes in Gaza, Lebanon and Israel since October 7, 2023.
On October 7 last year, Hamas entered southern Israel and carried out an unprecedented attack, killing 1,200 Israelis and capturing about 250 Israeli and foreign citizens and bringing them to Gaza. Since the same day, Israel has been indiscriminately bombing and attacking Gaza, declaring war on Hamas. 43,000 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli occupation’s attacks.
Last November, a seven-day ceasefire agreement was reached between Hamas and Israel, brokered by Qatar and Egypt. Under the agreement, Hamas also released more than a hundred Israeli prisoners. However, they still hold more than a hundred Israeli prisoners.
A year later, this war is no longer limited to Gaza. Now, Israel has continued airstrikes in Lebanon along with ground attacks. More than 2,500 people have been killed there as well.
