
6.5 magnitude earthquake in Indonesia

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 has struck Indonesia.
The earthquake struck on Friday (March 22). However, there were no immediate reports of damage from the earthquake and there was no threat of a tsunami.
The 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) off the coast of the Indonesian island of Java, Indonesia’s Geophysics Agency (BKMG) said.
BKMG also said the epicenter of the earthquake was 130 kilometers north of Tuban in East Java province. The tremor was strongly felt in Surabaya, the capital of East Java, and towns in neighboring provinces.
