Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the US presidential election on his mobile phone. He posted a video of his phone call with Trump on social media X, and the video has already gone viral.

Prabowo Subianto was inaugurated as Indonesia’s president in September after the departure of former President Joko Widado. He went to Beijing as his first foreign trip after taking office. From there, he arrived in Washington on Monday.

Meanwhile, upon arriving in Washington on Tuesday local time, Subianto called Trump from his mobile phone; he said, “Wherever you are, I want to personally visit you and congratulate you, sir.”

In response, Trump said, “Fine, but you can come whenever you want.”

The Indonesian President’s Office reported that Prabowo Subianto went to Washington on Monday to meet with outgoing US President Joe Biden. However, his office could not provide any information about whether he would also meet with Trump.

In a phone call, Trump told Subianto about the recently concluded election, “We have had great success. We have. People in the party say that such a victory has not been seen in the last 100 years.”

Trump also said that he respects the Indonesian president very much. He also praised Prabowo’s English.

In response, Prabowo, a former Indonesian army officer and commander of special forces, said, “The credit for this is the American trainers, sir. I have been to the United States several times for training.”
