The Palestinian armed group Islamic Jihad fired several rockets at Israel. Reuters reported that the attack was carried out on Monday (July 1) night.
According to the report, Islamic Jihad, a group allied to Hamas, said that the Israeli Jewish enemies are carrying out a brutal massacre of our Palestinian people. In response to their killing, rockets were fired at Israeli communities near the Gaza border.
The Israeli military (IDF) confirmed the rocket attack. They said the Palestinian group fired at least 20 rockets from the Khan Yunis area of southern Gaza. However, there were no casualties.
Meanwhile, occupying Israel has ordered the evacuation of Palestinians from the eastern part of Khan Yunis, the second largest city in Gaza. Locals have started to leave the city after the announcement by Netanyahu’s forces.
In a message from Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adrai, residents of Khan Yunis were asked to evacuate immediately to the humanitarian zone for security reasons. However, he did not clarify which place he meant by humanitarian zone.
It is believed that the Palestinians are being asked to move to the Al-Mawasi area. However, Israeli forces have recently carried out airstrikes in that area as well.
Residents of Khan Yunis have started leaving their homes after being ordered to leave the city. He is trying to move to a safe place as best he can. Many fear that Netanyahu’s troops are going to start a large-scale operation in the eastern part of the city soon.
According to the latest estimates given by the Ministry of Health in Gaza, at least 37 thousand 900 people have been killed by Israeli forces during the nine-month war. More than 80 thousand were injured. Most of the casualties were women and children.
