A Canadian media outlet has recently bombed the hostile relations between Canada and India over the killing of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Citing government sources, the outlet, The Globe and Mail, claimed in its report that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi knew about the conspiracy to kill Nijjar in advance.

In such a situation, India is naturally angry at Modi’s name being implicated in Nijjar’s murder. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs dismissed the report as ‘ridiculous’.

In the face of this tension, the Canadian government said in a statement on Thursday that it has not shared or is not aware of any evidence linking Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, or National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to serious criminal activities within the country.

The statement said that there is no evidence of any criminal activity on Canadian soil against Prime Minister Modi, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, or National Security Advisor Doval. The Canadian government has not named any of them as accused.

Earlier, the Canadian media claimed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had hatched a conspiracy to kill Nijjar. Prime Minister Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval were informed about the plan.

In that report, the Indian High Commissioner to Canada Sanjay Kumar Verma was also included in the list of those involved in Nijjar’s murder. After raising allegations of the involvement of the Indian High Commissioner and other diplomats in Nijjar’s murder, Delhi brought them back to the country. At the same time, some Canadian diplomats working in India were also expelled.

This does not end here, Canadian Minister David Morrison recently told a parliamentary committee that the attack and conspiracy against Khalistanis in Canada was on the orders of Home Minister Amit Shah.
