China has discovered a huge gold mine. The mine was discovered in Waku village, Pingyang district, Hunan province, Xinhua reported.
The country’s state media reported on Thursday that a mine with a market value of about 83 billion dollars has been discovered in central Hunan province.
The China Geological Survey reported that more than 40 gold ore veins or gold ore arteries were found at a depth of 2,000 meters in this new gold mine.
Gold ore arteries are formed when hot liquid or lava rich in gold ore flows through cracks in the earth’s crust.
Chinese geologists and mining experts say that the new mine contains more than 1,000 tons of high-quality gold at a depth of 3,000 meters.
The report says that gold mining has already started in the mine. Chen Rulin, one of the members of the mine’s discovery team, said, “We can see veins of gold inside every rock we break in the mine. An average of 138 grams of pure gold is found per ton of ore. This amount is not bad.”
Liu Yongchun, deputy head of the discovery team, said that they are using cutting-edge technology in gold mining.
