China’s military is ready to use force to prevent Taiwan’s independence. The country’s defense minister, Dong Jun, made such a comment. He made this comment while speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue conference in Singapore on Sunday (June 2). Al Jazeera news.
Chinese Defense Minister Dong said that Taiwan is also at the root of China’s main problems. But Taiwan’s ruling Democratic Progressive Party is increasingly pursuing separatism and seeking to erase China’s identity.
Although Taiwan is an independent independent country, China considers the country as its own territory. China began military exercises around the autonomous island three days after Taiwan’s new president, Lai Ching, was sworn in last month.
Calling Taiwan’s rulers ‘separatists’, the Chinese defense minister said these separatists have recently made radical statements that betray their Chinese nation and their ancestors.
He also said China is committed to peaceful reunification with Taiwan. The Chinese People’s Liberation Army has always been an indomitable and powerful force in the unification of the motherland. Strong force will always be used to prevent Taiwan’s independence and ensure that they never succeed in their endeavours.
The Chinese defense minister also said that anyone who dares to split Taiwan from China will be smashed to pieces and destroyed.
In response to the Chinese minister’s statement, Taiwan’s government said it deeply regrets the “provocative” and “unreasonable” comments.
