Four soldiers, 15 terrorists killed in two operations in Pakistan

The Pakistan Army’s media wing said that 15 terrorists were killed in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Four soldiers were also martyred in the clashes. Geo News reported.

A statement by the country’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that nine terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Hathala area of ​​Dera Ismail Khan district based on the presence of terrorists.

Meanwhile, security forces killed six terrorists in a separate operation in the Miran Shah area of ​​North Waziristan district.

The statement said that the slain terrorists were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.

The operation is part of a series of counter-terrorism efforts as violent attacks have increased in the border provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021.

According to data released by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) think tank, there was a sharp increase in terrorist attacks in the country in January 2025. This is a 42 percent increase compared to the previous month.

The data revealed that at least 74 terrorist attacks were recorded across the country, resulting in the deaths of 91 people, including 35 security personnel, 20 civilians and 36 militants. Another 117 people were injured, including 53 members of the security forces, 54 civilians and 10 militants.
