Group navigation coming to Google Maps, what are the benefits?

Google Maps is very popular for navigation or finding places. It is currently one of the most used navigation apps in the world. Now the company is going to add a new feature called ‘Group Navigation’ to the app. News Tech Times.

Google has announced a new feature in a recent patent application, which will facilitate group travel or multiple travelers traveling together to the same destination.

According to the patent application, with the new feature, a driver or traveler will inform the app about his destination and invite others. After that, all those who are going to the same place will join that group. However, the company said that everyone must be a Google user to get this service. Google Maps will ensure that each member of the group can choose an efficient and easy route to reach their destination.

Apart from this, the feature will have a facility called Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA). The person in the group who reaches the destination first will know where the others are and when they will arrive. He can share information with group members. Also, the person who is in front can give information about parking to others. Google said that there is a voice chat option here.

Apart from this, the feature will inform about traffic jams, blocked roads, accidents and suggest alternative routes. Tech giant Google says this feature will ensure that the entire team reaches the destination on time. However, the company has not yet announced when the feature will come to Google Maps.
